China and Russia – common plan of tourism development

On  May 23-24  Russian president Dmitrii Medvedev has visited Republic of China.

On the intergovernmental meeting Vladimir Strajlovskii, Russian Federal Tourism Agency General Director, presented Russia. Shao Qiwei, China National Tourism Administration Secretary was on behalf of China.

Two figures showed great interest and willingness for increasing tourism exchange between the countries.

As a result joint tourism development agreement was signed. The agreement stipulates main course of joint tourism development.

Under the agreement security of the tourists will be raised in both countries, quality of service will be improved. The agreement also strengthens mutually beneficial and long-term relationships between tourist agencies and organizations of the countries.

Strajlovskii condoled with Chinese upon the recent earthquake, caused a lot of victims.

“The main task of Chinese people is to liquidate consequences of the catastrophe”, said Mr. Shao Qiwei.

Summer Olympic 2008 will be held in China in August. Now the intense work is underway on preparation for the Games. Under the current agreement, Russians don’t need visa to enter China.

“Chinese authorities will follow the agreement during Olympics”, Mr. Shao Qiwei noticed
