Rezidor Hotel Group of companies opens its representative office in Moscow in order to ease the operation of its hotels in Russia, CIS, Baltic Sea countries and Turkey. The office will also be responsible for Rezidor expansion in Russia, Interfax reports.
RHG is the only international hotel chain to have the representative office in Russia (in other words, the subsidiary).
Russian and CIS portfolio of the company include 32 active hotels and those which are under construction with the number of beds totaling 8500. RHG is the largest hotel chain in Russia today. The hotels of the company are the most profitable ones according to their high occupancy.
Curt Ritter, President and CEO of RHG, says there are 50 cities in Russia in need of hotels offering international level of comfort and service.
“Our goal is to build or reconstruct the hotels according to internationally accepted standards. Implantation of our hotels under the global brands such as Radisson, Park Inn, Rigment and Missoni to Russian cities will enrich the economy of the cities and strengthen their positions on the world market”, said Ritter.
RHG is more than 16 years in Russian market. The first hotel of the company was opened in Moscow, later in Sochi, Saint-Petersburg and Ekaterinburg. In the last decades hotels of Radisson SAS and Park Inn were opened in CIS and Baltic Sea countries: Azerbaijan, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Uzbekistan and Ukraine.
The first hotel of Park Inn was opened in Ekaterinburg in the spring of 2006. RGH also runs 2 hotels under the brand name Park Inn in Saint-Petersburg (Park Inn Pulkovskaya – 840 rooms, Park Inn Pribaltiiskaya – 1200 rooms). New Park Inn hotels are now under construction in Kazan (174 rooms), Ryazan (196 rooms), Saint-Petersburg (250 rooms) and will open in 2010 – 2011. New “Park Inns” in Moscow and Voronezh will open in 2008.
Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts signed management contracts on several new hotels. Radisson SAS Belorusskaya will be located in 2 minutes walking distance from the metro “Belorusskaya” and Tverskaya Street. The hotel will include 264 rooms, round-the-clock restaurant (264 seats), one more restaurant (180 seats), lobby-bar, business center, banquet hall, 4 conference halls, spa and wellness centers. The complex will open in 2010.
Radisson SAS Moscow Riverside Hotel & Resort will be built on the Moscow River banks. One of the largest Moscow expositions centers is located nearby. The hotel will include 150 rooms, two restaurants, bar, conference halls, wellness and spa centers. The proposal was set to complete the construction in 2010.
At present the company operates 334 hotels in Europe, in the Middle East and Africa (52 countries, more than 68 000 rooms). By 2009 the company will add 20 000 new rooms – the contracts have already been signed.
Rezidor Hotel Group operates hotels under such brand names as Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts, Regent International Hotels, Park Inn Hotels, and Country Inns & Suites in Europe, the Middle East and in Africa. Rezidor has signed the international agreement with the fashion house “Missoni” on development and operation of the life style hotels under the brand name “Hotel Missoni”.
