Svetlogorsk, one of the fast growing tourism centers of Russia, is situated on the seaside of the Baltic Sea. Forests, sea, mountains and valleys of the area attract a number of tourists to the resort.
 
The tourism to the city grows 10-15% annually.

At the press-conference held in the tourism information center of Svetlogorsk, Sergey Rudobelets, deputy head of the region's department “Svetlogorsk city district”, told about the “rebranding plans for the resort". "The key idea of the new brand", he continued, "will be - Svetlogorsk - the city on the seaside, buried in venture. Marvelous at any time of the year”.

“11 hotels totaling 1380 beds are now under construction in the city. In two years the sea-front of the city 660 m long will be extended to 1800 m. The city park is also to be reconstructed here”, Sergey Rudobelets reported.

 

Spa industry is also to be developed in Svetlogorsk. «All the hotels to be built in the city will include spa-centers”, said Marina Drutman, director of the Kaliningrad’s region tourism department.

  
Svetlogorsk obtained the official status of the resort in 1820, in addition to fresh air it is rich in muds and mineral water.

Mr Rudobelets noticed that only lack of investment hampers Svetlogorsk tourism development.

“Svetlogorsk – is one the most perspective tourism centers in Kaliningrad region”, Elmira Haimurzina, executive director of information and education tourism center of Kaliningrad region, concluded.
