Architect from Netherlands to build hotel complex in Khanty-Mansiysk

The construction of business and hotel complex started today in Khanty-Mansiysk, capital of Yugra. It is one of the most ambitious projects of the well-known architect Eric Van Egeraat from the Netherlands in Russia.

The complex will occupy 60 ths m2 nearby Lenin Street.  It will include 5-star hotel, shopping and office areas and Khanty-Mansiysk Sberbank.

“The project of the Holland architect will spur the business development in the city”, said in statement Aleksandr Filipenko, governor of Ugra.

The construction of the complex is to be completed by 2010. In 2010 World Chess Olympiad to be held in the city. The complex will host the participants of the event.   

The architect has earlier been commissioned to create an eccentric project in the center Moscow: to build five luxury residential blocks in front of the Novy Tretyakov art gallery, each of which to be decorated in the style of a famous Russian artists (Malevich, Kandinsky, Rodchenko, Popova and Ekster).

The other project of the architect is now also implemented in Surgut.
