The construction plan known as “Zolotoy Ostrov”/ “Golden Island” for Bolotny Island in Moscow changed. Yuri Luzhkov, mayor of Moscow, decided to build up the district mostly with hotels instead of house and office accommodations.

According to the plan the “Bolotny Island” should include hotels, accommodations, shopping and entertainment complexes,  business centers. The plan had already been changed.

For example, in 2006 Yuri Luzhkov commissioned to reduce the number of house accommodations in favor of tourism and public establishments.  As a result the area of the construction site was reduced to 64 ths m2 instead of agreed 200 ths m2.

According to the today’s decision the construction area to be extended one a half.
