$36 mln to be put into the construction of the industrial park and tourism and recreation complex of international level in the Irkutsk botanic garden. The project is included into “Reference book of investor” that will be introduced at Baikal economic forum.
 
“It is the common project of the Irkutsk administration and the State University of Irkutsk. It will unite the large forest tract and university botanic garden. The territory of the project has 100 he of picturesque hilly area located near the city transport junction and Trans-Siberian railway”, the press-center of the forum reports.

The whole complex will include zoo, aquarium, planetarium, gardens, greenhouses, museums and other objects.  

The government is going to invest 30% of the cost of the project. Other finances will be attracted from the investors. The payback period is estimated to 8-10 years.

“The project is expected to attract private investment and different businesses (hotels, restaurants, shops)”, noticed in the message of the press-office.

The complex will cater to 600 ths guests annually. The proposal was made to start the construction in 2008 and to open the complex in 2011.
