Chain of resorts to be developed in Dagestan
Dagestan authorities plan to introduce the projects of resorts and
tourism and recreation complexes at the investment forum
“Sochi-2008”. The investment to the projects will amount to $710 mln.
The construction of the complex “German village” the project of which
will be introduced at the forum is now underway in Karabudakhkentskij
region of Dagestan. According to the project of ÎÎÎ “Europe-Invest” golf and yacht clubs
will be built together with house complex. Clinics, chemist’s shops,
treatment, sport and shopping centers, institute of sea and ecology
will top off the project. $480 mln of investment are needed to
implement the project. The payback period according to the experts is
expected to be not less than 7 years.

First Ukrainian Travel Forum to be held in Kiev
The first international tourism forum “Ukrainian Travel Forum-2008”
will be held in the center of business and cultural cooperation
“Ukrainskij dom” (Ukrainian house) since September 29 till October 1
2008. It was organized by the leading tour operators of Ukraine, the
members of the association of tourism business leaders of Ukraine which
unites the companies “Voyazh-Kiev”, “Kandagar”, “Pan Ukraine agency”,
“Tour operator “Proland””, “TEZ tour”, “SAM”, and “Turtess travel”.
The mission of the forum is to find decisions for tourism business
problems, to encourage the development of civilized market. The
association plans to organize the seasonal forums of such kind (in
autumn and in spring). The specially created company “ALTU-Expo” is in
charge of the forum organization.

40 investment projects of Krasnodar region to be introduced at “Sochi-2008”
More than 40 investment projects of Krasnodar region in the sphere of
resorts and tourism with a total budget of €3.3 bln will be introduced
at the VII international economic forum “Sochi-2008” that will be held
from 18 till 21 of September. This was reported in the press release of
the regional department of resorts and tourism development.

Foreigners will estimate tourism potential of Siberia
International tourism exhibition “Open you own Siberia!” will be held
in Tyumen from 23 till 25 of October. As it was reported in the press
office of information and tourism center of Tyumen region the
representatives from Tunisia, Germany, Turkey and Switzerland will
visit the exhibition. The round table will be arranged during the
exhibition and issues concerning the creation of the united
interregional brand “Ural-Siberia” and development of “Golden route of
Russia” will be discussed.

Second Russian Economic Forum “Cluster development – the basis of innovative national economy” was held in Samara
On July, 3-6 the second Interregional Economic Forum "Samara
initiative: Cluster development forms innovative national economy" was
held in Samara. Ministry for economic development of Russian Federation, Samara’s
government and Ministry for economic development, investment and trade
of Samara region were the organizers of the Forum. The federal and regional authorities, representatives of some largest
foreign and Russian businesses, the leading experts in the sphere of
economic and clusters policy, representatives of international finance
institutes and colleges and European clusters were the participants of
the Forum. Anatoliy Yarochkin, deputy head of Russian Federal Agency for Tourism, presented the Agency on the Forum. All in all more than 500 people took part in the event this year.

Sakhalin forum to spur tourism in the region
The second tourism fair “Sakhalin-Kuril Islands: Tourism and Travel” and the fifth exposition “Service” opened today in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. Konstantin Stroganov, first vice-governor of Sakhalin region, took part in the opening ceremony. Two day congress, devoted to tourism development in the region, also opened today in the hotel “Pacific Plaza Sakhalin”. Sakhalin International Expocenter in cooperation with Moscow International Trade and Industry Agency are in charge of the events organization. The promotion of Sakhalin tourism on Russian and International markets is the main goal of the Congress and the two fairs.
