Educational centers for hotel personnel in Saint-Petersburg
Saint Petersburg might get an educational centre that would teach hotel personnel. Despite the great amount of hotels in the city, almost all of them face the lack of qualified staff. Nikolay Popov, the vice-chancellor of the Baltic Academy for Tourism and Entrepreneurship comments that "There are around 30 institutes of higher education in the city teaching specialists for travel companies and hotels, but the number of lyceums and secondary professional educational institutions is less than ten. At the same time, there is no one teaching housekeeping." Hotels have to do it by themselves.

Henri Blin shares his impressions of Russian hospitality
Henri Blin, famous hotelier, was invited to work as general manager of St. Petersburg's Grand Hotel Europe. "Russian hospitality was a true discovery. It is not what they give, it is the way they give it. However, there is an imbalance between private hospitality and the ways Russians have to welcome guests at public places. When it concerns public places, Russians are much more reserved. It might be the certain education, the system of the past".
